Windows Vista Boot Manager Error

Friday, June 6th, 2008

Yesterday I have compressed my laptop hard disk usually C: [ C Drive ] it took some hours to compress it.  After than, I shut down my laptop.  Today, morning I opened my laptop.  Suddenly I got the error “Bootmgr is compressed” press ctrl+alt+del to restart computer.  I restarted my laptop couple of times.  Even though no use.  I decided to format my laptop.  But in a fraction of seconds,  I thought why don’t we Google the problem.  Then I searched it in Google as ” Bootmgr is compressed ” .  I clicked on first link i.e non-sponsored link.

Forum Help.  There  I scrolled down and I found my solution.  The user called “knarfishness” posted the solution.  Here is the solution.

” Heh, I found an easier way to fix this, and registered just to tell you, ><.
Boot from the Vista DVD.
Click ‘Repair my Computer’
At the prompt to select your OS installation, click the button that says ‘Load Drivers’. This should bring up a explorer-style drive browser.
Then just right-click on the drive you tried to compress, and deselect ‘Compress this Drive’, which should still be ticked on. Hit apply, and apply to subfolders/files.Reboot.Fixed it for me in a hurry, hope this helps someone else. “

I did same as mentioned above.  I got my OS back without any hassle.  Thanks to the Forum and Knarfishness.  Thanks Google.
