iPhone and India

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

iPhone…….hottest gadget of the year 2007.  Around the world all are eager to know actually what it is.  At last on June 29, Apple unveiled their mobile device.  All over the world so many of them expressed it will be a major fail for apple.  But, as days rolling apple made iPhone stronger and stronger by their aggresive marketing and with free software updates.

For Indians the iPhone is a rich device and easy to operate for reasonable price. Many of Indians who reside in USA had purchased iPhone from APPLE website and sent it to India.  There they unlocked the iPhone using unlocked software.  That shows how indians zeal about iPhone.  Indians spent RS.30k-50k for iPhone in blackmarket.  Spending Rs.30k-50k is huge.  We can get a ultra featured Laptops for that price.  If indians want to buy anything they liked, they doesn’t hessitate to put extra bucks.

As per rumors, iPhone in India may available September 2008.  The carriers are Airtel and Vodafone.  Airtel is the largest GSM network and leader in India.  Vodafone comes 4th position in subscription wise.  It is a good move by the APPLE to give license to multiple carriers to offer their device.  If apple decides to sell the iphone at $199 in India, It will be huge marke for APPLE.  Becuase, $199 means around Rs. 8500/-.

For that price it is very reasonable price, no other mobiles are offering that much features, storage compare to iPhone. It will be a really smart marketing move by the Apple.  Almost majority of Indians will buy the iPhone if they set to that price.

Heil Apple, Heil iPhone.
